With the current state of the WA employment market, we all may be a little out of practice in regards to the ‘selection’ aspect of our HR & Recruitment responsibilities.

Being faced with multiple ‘ideal’ candidates and finding it hard to choose was quite a foreign concept during the WA ‘boom’, but today certain employment markets are proving to be well stocked with talent.

In my experience of employing new staff at RecruitWest, I always opt for the 2nd interview approach, but have not always stopped to think about ‘informalising’ this meeting at a different location. In the past we have also exposed potential employees to other team members and then gain feedback from them.

We have some great café’s close to our office in Como and South Perth, it might be time to put them (and the candidates) to the test!
