As a Service Person, you will play a crucial role in supporting maintenance and service activities for heavy machinery, equipment, and vehicles used in construction, mining, and industrial sectors.

  • Equipment Maintenance Support: Assist in performing routine maintenance, inspections, and repairs on heavy machinery, trucks, excavators, loaders, and other equipment. Collaborate with experienced technicians to ensure proper servicing.
  • Tool and Equipment Management: Maintain and organise tools, equipment, and spare parts used in maintenance and repair activities. Ensure all tools are in good working condition and readily available.
  • Preventive Maintenance: Assist in conducting preventive maintenance tasks as directed, including lubrication, fluid changes, filter replacements, and other routine maintenance checks.
  • Cleaning and Detailing: Clean, wash, and detail equipment to maintain their appearance and functionality. Ensure proper cleaning of work areas and maintenance bays.
  • Parts Handling: Assist in managing parts inventory, ordering replacements as needed, and maintaining accurate records of parts used for maintenance and repairs.
  • Safety Compliance: Adhere to all safety regulations and procedures during maintenance activities. Follow safety protocols to ensure personal safety and the safety of colleagues and equipment users.
  • Documentation: Maintain accurate records of maintenance and service activities, including tasks performed, parts used, and equipment conditions. Complete required paperwork accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Site Support: Provide general support to technicians, mechanics, and operators on-site. Assist with equipment movement, setup, and other tasks as required.

To be eligible, you must have:

  • Experience: Prior experience in a similar role supporting maintenance and service activities for heavy machinery, equipment, or vehicles is preferred. Experience in construction, mining, or industrial environments is advantageous.
  • Technical Aptitude: Basic understanding of machinery components, systems, and maintenance practices. Willingness to learn and develop technical skills through on-the-job training.
  • Safety Consciousness: Demonstrated commitment to safety, with knowledge of relevant safety regulations, procedures, and risk assessments related to maintenance activities.
  • Physical Fitness: Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting heavy objects, cleaning machinery, and working in varying weather conditions.
  • Communication Skills: Good verbal and written communication skills to interact effectively with team members, technicians, and other stakeholders. Ability to follow instructions accurately and relay information clearly.
  • Adaptability: Willingness to work in different environments, adapt to changing work schedules, and support various tasks as directed by supervisors.
  • Problem-Solving: Ability to assist in identifying equipment issues, supporting troubleshooting efforts, and implementing solutions under supervision.
