Are you an experienced Drainage Labourer?
As a Drainage Labourer, you will play a vital role in construction, civil engineering, or infrastructure projects, assisting with various tasks related to drainage systems and utilities.
To join our team, you must be comfortable with the following:
- Drainage System Installation: Assist in the installation, maintenance, and repair of drainage systems, including pipes, culverts, gutters, and other components. Follow blueprints and specifications to ensure accurate placement and connection.
- Excavation and Trenching: Assist with excavation and trenching activities using hand tools, machinery, or equipment. Prepare trenches, lay pipes, and backfill trenches according to project requirements.
- Site Preparation: Prepare work areas by clearing debris, marking boundaries, and setting up barriers or warning signs to ensure safety during construction activities.
- Material Handling: Load and unload materials, tools, and equipment needed for drainage projects. Assist in moving materials around the construction site and organising them for easy access.
- Safety Compliance: Adhere to all safety regulations and procedures to create a safe working environment. Identify potential hazards and report safety concerns to the supervisor promptly.
- Equipment Maintenance: Clean, maintain, and organise tools and equipment used in drainage projects. Report any equipment malfunctions or maintenance needs to the appropriate personnel.
- Communication: Maintain effective communication with team members, supervisors, and other stakeholders to coordinate tasks, prioritise work, and ensure smooth operations on the construction site.
- Documentation: Keep accurate records of daily activities, including tasks performed, materials used, and any incidents or near misses. Complete required paperwork and reports accurately and in a timely manner.
To be eligible, you must have:
- Experience: Previous experience as a Drainage Labourer, Construction Labourer, or similar role is preferred. Experience in construction, civil engineering, or infrastructure projects is advantageous.
- Physical Fitness: Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting heavy objects, digging, bending, and working in varying weather conditions.
- Safety Consciousness: Demonstrated commitment to safety, with knowledge of safety regulations, procedures, and risk assessments related to construction and excavation activities.
- Technical Skills: Familiarity with basic construction tools, hand tools, and equipment used in drainage and excavation projects. Ability to work with tools safely and accurately.
- Communication Skills: Good verbal and written communication skills to interact effectively with team members, supervisors, and other stakeholders. Ability to follow instructions accurately and relay information clearly.
- Adaptability: Willingness to work in different environments, adapt to changing work schedules, and handle varying tasks as required by project demands.
- Problem-Solving: Ability to assist in troubleshooting and finding solutions to challenges that may arise during drainage projects.
