Team Leader- Construction/Roads & Drainage

RecruitWest is on the lookout for an experienced and multi-skilled individual to spearhead our client’s Maintenance Drainage Team, reporting directly to the Maintenance Drainage Supervisor. This individual will play a key role in the supervision of staff as well as in carrying out hands-on civil construction activities.

Responsibilities:

• Construction of road pavements (including subgrade preparation, water binding, compaction and trimming), prime/2-coat sealing, kerbing, and concrete works.
• Installation of piped drainage systems and construction of stormwater pits, rock headwalls and dissipaters.
• Use of rollers, water carts, excavators, skid steers, tip trucks and backhoe loaders to carry out maintenance/construction tasks.
• Use of concrete cutters, chain saws, compactors and cement mixers to carry out maintenance/construction tasks.
• Day-to-day supervision of a small team of plant operators and drainage labourers

Qualifications and Requirements:

• Previous experience in road and drainage construction and maintenance role
• Previous experience operating a wide range of civil construction mobile plant (roller, water cart, excavator, skid steer, tip trucks, back hoe loaders) as well as the possession of all relevant tickets.
• Previous experience in a local government or sub-divisional contractor capacity (preferred).
• Your own transport to/from work.
• Full Australian working rights – essential.

About the Role:

• Pay rate of $48.16 per hour, paid weekly.
• Commencing in January 2025
• Perth Hills location (Mundaring)
