Position Title: Project Officer
Location: Mundaring, WA
Employment Basis: 4-6 month term with potential for permancy, full-time hours

We are seeking a motivated and experienced Projects Officer to join our client’s dynamic Recreation and Tourism Services Team. The successful candidate will play a key role in identifying opportunities for social change, liaising with various stakeholders, conducting public consultations and contributing to the development of programs and projects that enrich our community.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Identify opportunities and assess potential impacts of social change on recreation and leisure facilities.
  • Liaise and negotiate with government and non-government agencies to develop programs and projects.
  • Conduct public consultations with internal and external customers.
  • Assist the Manager of Recreation & Tourism Services to recruit and select consultants and third parties to achieve goals.
  • Facilitate the development of recreation and leisure opportunities to contribute to community health and well being.
  • Prepare correspondence, internal advice and reports.
  • Perform other duties as directed by the Manager of Recreation & Tourism Services.
  • Ensure decision-making, actions and behaviour are ethical, responsible, transparent and comply with legislation.
  • Understand and meet statutory responsibilities, inc records management, disability access, inclusion & emergency management and recovery activities following emergencies.

About the role:

  • Monday – Friday, 38hr/week.
  • Competitive salary and benefits package – pay rate starts at $52/hr.
  • 4-6 month contract with potential for permanency.
  • Immediate start date.

To be considered, you’ll require:

  • Developed skills in project planning and project management.
  • Developed communication skills, both written and oral.
  • Considerable project management experience.
  • Experience in marketing services and programs.
  • Experience in analysing social issues and trends.
  • Previous experience in local government or recreation services.
  • Tertiary qualification in a relevant field.
  • Current WA C Class Driver’s Licence.
