Job Title: Plant Mechanic
Position Type: Full-Time (Monday to Friday) on a 9-day fortnight. Part-Time hours will be considered.
Location: Mundaring
Start Date: Immediate
Salary: LG Level 5 – $46.71 per hour plus penalty rates

RecruitWest has an opportunity for an experienced Mobile Plant Mechanic to start ASAP with our client at their premises located in the Perth hills.

Key Responsibilities:

• Maintain, service and repair all mobile plant, equipment and vehicles located at our client’s Depot, Transfer Station and Volunteer Fire Station
• Prioritise tasks and work efficiently to achieve desired outcomes in a timely manner
• Demonstrate a high level of ability to diagnose and solve complex problems, instigating effective and innovative solutions
• Utilise sound knowledge of oxy-acetylene, electric and MIG welding techniques
• Apply considerable experience in the repair, maintenance and service of diesel and petrol-powered heavy-duty plant, equipment and light vehicles

Requirements:

• Relevant Trade Certificate with an emphasis on heavy-duty plant mechanics or equivalent qualification
• Construction Safety Awareness Training Card
• Current WA Forklift Certificate
• Ability to work outside normal working hours, including public holidays and weekends
• Availability for emergency call-outs when required

Skills and Qualifications:

• Proven experience in plant mechanics with a focus on heavy-duty equipment
• Strong knowledge of welding techniques, including oxy-acetylene, electric and MIG
• Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work independently
• Ability to adapt to changing priorities and work in a fast-paced environment
• Strong communication skills and a team-oriented mindset
