Vacancy: Parks and Gardens General Hand
Location: Donnybrook, WA
Employment Basis: Casual
Pay Rate: $41/hour PLUS penalty rates

Join our team in Donnybrook and contribute to the upkeep of their beautiful parks and public spaces. This role involves a mix of horticultural tasks and general maintenance duties, ensuring the community enjoys well-maintained outdoor areas.

Key Responsibilities:

• Horticultural Maintenance
  • Mow lawns and verges in parks, ovals and reserves
  • Plant, maintain and spray garden beds
  • Prune trees and shrubs
  • Maintain and repair irrigation systems
  • Manage plant health including pest, weed and disease control

• Public Area Maintenance
  • Collect rubbish from public bins
  • Maintain stormwater drains.
  • Inspect and repair playground equipment
  • Perform general infrastructure repairs
  • Street sweeping
  • Remove deceased animals
  • Clean public toilets and barbecue areas
  • Participate in a weekend maintenance roster
  • Perform cemetery maintenance including grave digging
  • Complete other tasks as assigned by supervisors.

Essential Requirements:

• Current C Class Driver’s Licence
• General Construction Induction Card (White or Blue)
• Proven physical fitness and ability to perform manual labour
• Experience operating relevant horticultural and maintenance equipment
• Strong teamwork skills
• Ability to pass a pre-employment drug & alcohol test

Desired Attributes:

• MR Class Driver’s License (or willingness to obtain)
• Relevant qualifications in parks and gardens maintenance (eg traffic management, weed spraying, chainsaw operation)
