About the role

As an Electrician/Crane Technician, you will:

• Perform inspections, services and maintenance of overhead cranes’ electrical and mechanical systems
• Diagnose and resolve equipment issues efficiently, ensuring minimal downtime
• Document your work comprehensively, including reports and worksheets and share findings with the South-West Manager
• Maintain an organised workshop and inventory of parts
• Participate in toolbox and safety meetings to uphold a commitment to workplace safety
• Adhere to South32’s policies and procedures, including compliance with OH&S standards
• Deliver high-quality work while demonstrating awareness and responsibility for workplace safety
• Communicate effectively and professionally in all interactions

What we’re looking for:

Essential Qualifications and Skills

• Current A Grade Electrical Licence
• Strong mechanical aptitude
• Current C Class Driver’s Licence
• Ability to work onsite independently with minimal supervision
• Proficiency in English (written and oral communication)
• Basic computer skills
• A professional attitude and approach

Desirable Skills:

• Previous experience with crane systems
• Forklift, Working at Heights and Rigging Tickets.
