The Community Facilities Coordinator will oversee the safe and efficient operation of all community facilities, including Lake Leschenaultia and Mundaring Arena. The successful candidate will ensure these facilities meet service levels, operate within budget and provide a high level of customer service.

The role involves planning and implementing maintenance, developing key partnerships, managing major projects, and continually improving business processes.

Key Responsibilities:

Service Delivery:

  • Ensure all community facilities, Lake Leschenaultia and Mundaring Arena operate safely.
  • Maintain operations at service levels defined in the Corporate Business Plan and within budget.
  • Provide a high level of customer service.
  • Negotiate, develop and encourage key partnerships with the community and businesses to increase the use of Shire community facilities.
  • List capital requests for community facilities for consideration in the Shire’s budget deliberations.
  • Achieve continual improvement through ongoing review of business processes.
  • Complete major projects to a high standard, on time, and within budget.
  • Provide effective coordination, leadership, and supervision.
  • Recruit, train, and retain customer-focused employees.
  • Develop and maintain professional relationships with the community and external stakeholders.

What do you need:

  • Developed skills in project planning and management.
  • Highly developed communication skills, both written and oral.
  • Strong administration and organizational skills.
  • Understanding of recreation provision in the context of local government.
  • Knowledge of relevant external funding sources.
  • Previous experience in local government or recreation services.
  • Tertiary qualification in a relevant field.
  • Current WA “C” Class Driver’s Licence.
