THE JOB

As a Blast Crew Member, you’ll be part of the team responsible for getting blasts safely and efficiently prepared and completed.

You’ll be involved in:

• Blast preparation and site set-up
• Supporting blast loading activities
• General blast crew duties
• Working around explosives and mobile mining equipment
• Following blast plans, site procedures and safety requirements
• Working closely with Shot Firers and mining crews
• Keeping the work area clean, organised and safe
• Doing the job properly – every time

This is hands-on mining work. You need to be prepared to get stuck in, work as part of a crew and take pride in doing the job right.

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR

You don’t need to be a qualified Shot Firer – we’re looking for people who have the right mining experience and attitude to develop into one.

You’ll need:

• Experience as Blast Crew labourer
• Dangerous Goods Security Card – essential
• Current Australian Driver’s Licence
• Current National Police Clearance
• Ability to pass a pre-employment medical and drug & alcohol screen
• Strong safety record and work ethic
• Reliable and physically fit for hands-on blast crew work
• A genuine interest in building a career in blasting
